The National Association of Medical Directors have been participating in study tours to various partner regions over the past 7 years:
Study visits are crucial towards bringing health professionals together, to learn about one another's health systems, to compare and contrast through observation and the organization of meetings.
In May 2007, there was a visit by a delegation of Swedish social care workers from partner region, Vastra Gotaland. The group was invited by ANFASS Padova, a privately-run residence, training centre and school, for over 120 mentally and physically impaired individuals between the ages of 16 and 60. The group also visited the Robert Hollmann Foundation in Padova (a Dutch non-profit foundation which runs two rehabilitation centres for the blind and visually impaired children in Italy), where the group had the opportunity to see various workshops experimenting with musicotherapy and to observe the use of colour, texture and shapes in the classrooms.
