Dr Cristina Hernández-Quevedo is a Research Fellow at the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. She holds a PhD in economics (2007) and a master’s degree in health economics (2003) from the University of York, United Kingdom, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain (2002).
Within the Observatory, Cristina works on a range of projects, including: health systems’ monitoring, international health care comparisons and performance assessment, the organization and financing of public health services, and payment incentives for integrated care, among others. She also contributes to the dissemination strategy of the Observatory. Cristina’s research interests include: inequalities in health and lifestyle factors, equity in access to health and social care services, socioeconomic determinants of health, and European health systems and policies. Before joining the Observatory, Cristina worked for 3 years as a Research Fellow for a European Union-funded project known as the ECuity Project, lead by Professor Andrew M Jones (University of York) and Professor Eddy van Doorslaer (Erasmus University Rotterdam).
