Sherry Merkur, MSc

Sherry Merkur is a Technical Officer/Research Fellow at the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, based at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Sherry's current research focuses on comparative health systems and policies, the changing role of hospitals, and patient-centred care. She also has experience (and related publications) in the economics of health promotion and disease prevention, quality of care, physician revalidation, pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement, and European Union regulation and law.

Sherry is coeditor of Eurohealth the Observatory’s quarterly journal, which provides a forum for researchers, policy-makers and experts to express their views on health policy issues and contribute to a constructive debate on health policy in Europe. Recent country reporting has covered Belgium, Denmark, Israel, Malta, Sweden and the United Kingdom. She holds a master’s degree (with distinction) in health, population and society from the LSE and a bachelor’s degree in physiology and management from McGill University (Canada).
