Facets of public health in Europe
As the burden of non-communicable diseases is rising in Europe and beyond, countries with the support of international institutions such as WHO are seeking to strengthen their public health response. As a way to underpin these efforts this new book provides a comprehensive description and analysis of existing public health structures, capacities, and services in Europe. Drawing on the wide range of experiences from many countries, this study also sets out the requirements for effective delivery of public health functions.
The new Observatory study is published by Open University Press and is now downloadable from this site.
