New book on the impact of the global economic crisis on health systems

The financial and economic crisis has had a visible but varied impact on most health systems in Europe, eliciting a number of responses from governments faced with new constraints on public sector spending. This new volume maps those responses by country, providing a detailed analysis of policy responses to the crisis in nine selected countries as well as presenting shorter overviews of policy responses in the 47 countries of the World Health Organization European Region. Involving over one hundred international health system experts and academic researchers across Europe, this is one of the largest studies on the impact of the economic crisis conducted to date.
