Children’s access rights to health care assessed

The UN Convention on the rights of the child (UNCRC) establishes a fundamental right for every child to access health services, irrespective of nationality, residence or legal status. A new report, which was produced at the request of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Health and Food Safety, now assesses the eligibility of different groups of children who are living in any one of the 28 EU Member States, all of which have ratified the UNCRC.
