Cyprus

The Ministry of Health of Cyprus is responsible for the organization of the health care system and the provision of state-financed health care services. The Council of Ministers has overall responsibility for the state’s role in the social protection and health care system. Overall, chronic diseases dominate communicable diseases. At the 2013 World Health Assembly, sustainable reform of the health system was the main focus of a bilateral meeting between WHO/Europe and the Ministry.

Fifth high-level meeting of small countries: working together for better health and well-being for all

Held in Reykjavik, Iceland, on 26-27 June 2018, the meeting provided members of the Small Countries Initiative of the WHO European Region with a high-level forum for discussions on their health agendas and ways of progressing towards achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
