Successful launch of new health system review on Hungary
The new 2011 health system review for Hungary, Health systems in transition (HiT), was successfully launched both in print and on the web during the policy dialogue on health system performance assessment held at the Ministry of National Resources in Hungary on 30 November 2011.
The HiT review consists ofa detailed description of the health system, reforms and policy initiatives in progress since 2004. The review was produced by country experts of Semmelweis University, which is a member of the Network of National Lead Institutions that work with the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies on country monitoring, and by the staff of the WHO Country Office, Hungary, in collaboration with the Observatory’s staff. In addition, the author team recently published an article on the major challenges ahead of the Hungarian health system in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) on 7 December 2011.
