The WHO Country Office, Kyrgyzstan was set up in 1994. The Office is the focal point for WHO activities in Kyrgyzstan. The country team consists of eight people, including experts on HIV/AIDS, disaster preparedness and response, communicable disease surveillance and response, health systems, and climate change.

Kyrgyzstan back on track to prevent measles and rubella outbreaks

After a successful second round in a nationwide immunization campaign in Kyrgyzstan, 96% of the 2 045 513 children and young adults aged 1–20 across the county have now been vaccinated against measles and rubella.
