IARC manual “Planning and developing population-based cancer registration in low- and middle-income settings” now available in Russian
The WHO International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Technical Publication No. 43 “Planning and developing population-based cancer registration in low- and middle-income settings” has been translated to Russian. The translation was financed through a voluntary contribution of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
This 45-page manual is essential to the implementation and development of population-based cancer registration in Russian-speaking countries. It assists countries in monitoring cancer control activities by providing technical advice to planners, health specialists and registry staff. The manual addresses the role and status of cancer registries worldwide, the process of planning and developing registries, sources of information, quality control, and the reporting of results.
400 copies of the manual have been printed and disseminated to WHO/Europe and to participants of the cancer registration courses held at the end of 2016 in Obninsk, Russian Federation, and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
