Better health for poor and socially excluded groups
To facilitate implementation of the action plan for health under the Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005–2015, the Ministry of Health of The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and WHO/Europe will hold a joint workshop on improving the health of Roma and other populations experiencing poverty and social exclusion.
The workshop will take place on 20–21 January 2011 in Skopje. It will bring together about 50 participants from different sectors and civil-society organizations in the country, United Nations agencies, the World Bank, the European Commission and the Open Society Institute. Representatives of the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equity and the State Council of the Roma Community in Spain will share examples of their work to improve Roma health.
