Tajikistan celebrates 80th anniversary of Scientific Research Institute of Preventive Medicine
On the occasion of the official commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Scientific Research Institute of Preventive Medicine in Tajikistan, a special scientific and practical conference was organized on 25 November 2011.
The conference was attended by Deputy Minister of Health Mr Mirzoev A, Director of Tajik Scientific Research Institute of Preventive Medicine Mr Sattorov S, Dr Pavel Ursu, Head/WHO Representative, Country Office, Tajikistan, as well as all heads and representatives from the departments of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the conference, participants delivered information on the history of the establishment of the Institute, including its achievements and prospects for research. Over the years, the Institute has published many materials and put into practice manuals and guidelines. At present, it also has nine laboratories.
The specialists working in the Institute have done a lot of work in different areas of science, where they have introduced their own contribution to the eradication of many dangerous, parasitic, viral and bacterial infections.
The Tajik Scientific Research Institute of Preventive Medicine is one of the leading scientific centres of the country where work is underway on the epidemiology, medical bacteriology, virology, parasitology, immunology, infectious and especially dangerous diseases, as well as health issues, labor and nutrition, prevention infectious and noninfectious diseases.
