Consultation on health research and development demonstration projects – now live
WHO/Europe invites submissions on possible demonstration projects on health research and development. In 2010, the World Health Assembly established the Consultative Expert Working Group (CEWG), in response to concerns that insufficient resources were being devoted to target diseases that disproportionately affect people in developing countries.
Through gathering information on demonstration projects, WHO hopes not only to identify new products for development that address the unmet health needs of developing countries, but also find projects that demonstrate new approaches for financing and conducting research and development.
Specifically, WHO/Europe would like:
- recommendations for demonstration projects (made by completing the template attached in link below); and
- advice on the process of reviewing proposals for demonstration projects.
All the consultation materials, including a briefing paper, are available for download in English and Russian from the ShareFile site linked below. You will be asked to enter your name; this is for tracking purposes, and no details will be shared. The materials will appear in a .zip file.
Send queries and the completed template and written feedback by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The closing date for submissions of demonstration projects has been extended until 31 October 2013.
