WHO policy dialogue on international health workforce mobility and recruitment challenges

The WHO Regional Offices for Europe and Western Pacific, in cooperation with the WHO Collaborating Centre and the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in Amsterdam, are organizing an international policy dialogue in Amsterdam on 2 and 3 May 2013.

The policy dialogue will be an important forum bringing together policy-makers and researchers from source and destination countries; it will allow analysing the challenges in implementing the WHO Code of Practice on International Recruitment of Health Personnel and identifying policy options, areas of technical cooperation to these challenges. The focus of the discussion will be on bilateral agreements and circular migration. 

 The WHO Global Code of Practice on the International Recruitment of Health Personnel was adopted by the 193 Member States of the World Health Organization. The Code establishes and promotes voluntary principles and practices for the ethical recruitment of health personnel.
