The WHO Global Disability Action Plan (2014–2021) "Better health for persons with disabilities” proposes action to foster health and well-being and to improve the human rights situations of people with disabilities. It lays out actions for WHO, Member States and partners towards the objectives of strengthening and extending rehabilitation and aligning national health and rehabilitation policies and plans with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
In 2017, WHO launched “Rehabilitation 2030: a call for action”. It requests Member States to undertake key actions, including:
- improving rehabilitation management and investment;
- building a high-quality rehabilitation workforce and services; and
- enhancing data collection on rehabilitation.
