About Candace Currie

Candace Currie, the HBSC study’s International Coordinator, is Professor of Child and Adolescent Health at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, United Kingdom, where she is the Director of the Child and Adolescent Health Research Unit (CAHRU) in the School of Medicine. She has a background in the biological and behavioural sciences (BSc Hons in zoology, University of St Andrews; PhD in animal behaviour, University of Edinburgh).

Since 1988, Candace has been Principal Investigator for Scotland of the Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children (HBSC) study, a WHO collaborative cross-national study. She was elected International Coordinator of the study in 1995.
