Call for good practices in the health sector response to HIV
Implementing the Action plan for the health sector response to HIV in the WHO European Region requires effective, efficient and sustainable interventions and evidence-based responses. In order to scale up implementation, WHO/Europe is calling on Member States, partners and communities to share their examples of good practices related to:
- information for focused action;
- interventions for impact;
- delivering for equity;
- financing for sustainability; and
- innovation for acceleration.
Despite some progress, HIV transmission and insufficient health sector response remain major concerns in the Region. In 2016, more than 160 000 people were diagnosed with HIV infection – once again, the highest annual number ever reported in the Region. The good practices gathered will contribute to strengthening the regional response to HIV.
The deadline for submissions is 28 February 2018. WHO/Europe aims to disseminate a compendium of the good practices at the 22nd International AIDS Conference in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 23–27 July 2018.
