WHO European Region Measles and Rubella Laboratory Network meeting
WHO/Europe will hold a meeting this month for measles and rubella reference laboratories that are part of the WHO European Regional Laboratory Network. The meeting, which will be organized jointly with the WHO Country Office in Slovakia and the Slovak Ministry of Health, will take place 15-17 June 2011 in Bratislava. It will bring together representatives from 34 Member States from western and central Europe.
The goals of this meeting are 1) to exchange information on recent progress made towards the European measles and rubella elimination goal and 2) to share data on laboratory-based surveillance and genotyping data, as well as on performance of the network laboratories. The meeting will provide a platform to share experiences, recent developments in laboratory diagnostic methods and to discuss challenges of the network.
