Journal of Infectious Diseases releases measles supplement with articles by WHO/Europe technical experts

The Journal of Infectious Diseases has now released its July 2011 measles supplement online. This supplement, titled “Global Progress Toward Measles Eradication and Prevention of Rubella and Congenital Rubella Syndrome,” contains more than 70 articles grouped into several sub-topics. These include: public health importance of measles and rubella; feasibility of measles eradication; economic studies; measles vaccine safety and effectiveness; regional and country experiences; and molecular epidemiology and laboratory aspects of measles and rubella surveillance.

Technical experts from the Vaccine-preventable Diseases and Immunization programme at WHO/Europe authored four of the articles included in the section that focuses on measles in the European Region. These articles and the entire measles supplement can be accessed via the link below.
