Apply to become a core group member of ELI
The next call for application for members of the core group of the European TB Laboratory Initiative (ELI) for the period 2018–2020 will open in 2017.
Members of the ELI core group are selected according to their technical expertise, working experience and constituency background. In addition, the selection takes into account geographical distribution, aiming for at least four core group members to represent the eastern part of the Region. Applicants are sought to serve on the ELI core group for a term of two years.
- Technical background and experience required: expertise at the global, regional and/or country level in strengthening laboratory systems, TB laboratory capacity-building, implementation and development of new TB diagnostics, development of policy guidance on appropriate laboratory technology, technology transfer, standardized laboratory quality assurance, biosafety, infection control, laboratory advocacy and resource mobilization.
- A minimum of five years’ involvement in one or more of these areas is essential.
- Working knowledge of English (the language for meetings of the ELI core group).
How to apply
To become a member of the ELI core group, send your application by email to the ELI Secretariat, indicating “ELI application” in the subject line, and attaching your CV and a covering letter presenting your interest and suitability for ELI core group membership. A letter of support from your institution, stating that you will be allowed sufficient time to carry out ELI responsibilities, will be requested for all shortlisted candidates.
