Workshop for newly independent states promotes ratification of Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products
WHO/Europe and the WHO Country Office in Georgia together with the Secretariat of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) organized a workshop for newly independent states to promote the entry into force of the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products. The workshop took place on 10–12 October 2017 in Tbilisi.
The Deputy Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia opened the event, which gathered representatives of 11 countries from the fields of public health, customs, trade, justice and foreign affairs.
WHO/Europe is encouraging all Parties to the WHO FCTC to ratify the Protocol before or on 2 July 2018.
