2. What is the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development?
The 2030 Agenda for sustainable development sets a vision and principles for sustainable development in the next 15 years. It includes 17 Goals as well as means of implementation and mechanisms for follow-up and review. The Agenda was adopted in 2015 at the United Nations summit in New York, through the UN General Assembly resolution 70/1 “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, and entered into force on 1 January 2016.
