Regional workshop on results-based management for tuberculosis control

14–15 November 2013, Copenhagen, Denmark

The Regional workshop on results-based management for tuberculosis (TB) control will offer the opportunity to present and discuss challenges in the current management practices of national TB programmes, including measures to adopt new tools, working in partnership and engaging civil society organizations, planning and performance assessment and human resource development. By offering practical results-based management skills, the workshop is expected to further strengthen the capacity of national TB programme managers. The programme of the workshop will include plenary sessions and working group sessions.

The objectives of the workshop are:

  • to present and discuss the key principles of modern management practices in national TB programmes;
  • to discuss and outline possibilities to conceptualize systematic approaches to assessing challenges in managing TB programmes with the aim of rendering them more results-oriented and thereby helping to reduce the burden of TB and multidrug- and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (M/XDR-TB).
