Tobacco control leadership programme in the Russian language
4-8 November 2013, Istanbul, Turkey
WHO/Europe will hold a tobacco control leadership programme in Russian on 4-8 November 2013, in Istanbul, Turkey. The leadership programme aims to build capacity to develop effective tobacco control policies and their implementation in line with the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC).
Ministries of health along with partners from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan will attend - in total 90 persons from 12 countries. The programme is organized together with the John Hopkins School of Public Health (JHSPH) and the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.
The programme is patterned after the annual JHSPH Global Tobacco Control Leadership Program held in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, and will take place in the Russian language.
