Workshop on immunization financing, vaccine procurement and regulations

11–15 November 2013, Dubrovnik, Croatia

This workshop aims to strengthen national capacities to achieve financial sustainability of national immunization programmes and obtain access to quality-assured vaccines at an affordable and optimum price by strengthening national procurement and vaccine regulation systems.

The cost of immunization programmes are escalating, particularly with the addition of new vaccines. The phasing out of donor support in some countries puts an additional financial burden on government budgets. Moreover, vaccine pricing is a complex and multidimensional issue; and countries often require technical assistance in understanding and utilising available vaccine market information to improve the efficiency of their vaccine procurement and regulation systems.

Four participants will attend from each invited country: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Republic of Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
