Assessment of challenges and development of action plan to sustain immunization investments in Georgia
27–31 October 2014, Georgia
Georgia is one of 6 Member States in the European Region (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Republic of Moldova and Uzbekistan) scheduled to graduate from GAVI Alliance support for immunization programmes within the coming few years. WHO/Europe has initiated a number of activities to help these countries prepare for and cope with graduation issues, including workshops on graduation issues, development of transition plans with national authorities and assistance with performance monitoring.
A joint mission to Georgia on 27–31 October 2014 composed of WHO, United Nations Children’s Fund, GAVI Secretariat, and the Sabin Institute will provide technical support to the Ministry of of Labour, Health and Social Affairs to identify challenges related to graduation from GAVI support, and to develop a costed plan of action to address those challenges in order to sustain immunization investments in Georgia after graduation.
