Second Advisory Committee meeting for the new TB Action Plan of the WHO European Region, 2016–2020
4 March 2015, Copenhagen, Denmark
The Consolidated Action Plan to Prevent and Combat Multidrug- and Extensively Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis in the WHO European Region, 2011–2015 is now in the final year of implementation. With the endorsement of the post-2015 global End TB Strategy by the sixty-seventh session of the World Health Assembly, Member States, WHO and partners are moving forward together in developing a new Action Plan for 2016–2020 (TB-AP) to prevent and control TB and M/XDR-TB in the WHO European Region. To this end, an Advisory Committee has been established, comprising two face-to-face meetings at the WHO Regional Office for Europe premises on 3 October 2014 and 4 March 2015.
The meeting will discuss: updates to the post-2015 global End TB Strategy and implications for regional adaptation; the changes and revisions made to the TB-AP draft since the first Advisory Committee meeting (3 October 2014); the development of the TB-AP monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework and indicators; and revisions that need to be made to the draft Plan ahead of public consultation.
