Health in the criminal justice system annual conference

27–29 October 2015, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

WHO/Europe and Public Health England jointly organized an international conference and regional consultation on health in the criminal justice system.

The main aim of the conference was to share good practice on prison health focusing on the topic of illicit drug use among prisoners, including prevention of overdose deaths, harm reduction and treatment of substance abuse disorders. It included presentations by international experts and WHO/Europe Member State representatives on specific initiatives in prison health. It also provided a platform for information exchange between WHO/Europe and partners. Participation was by invitation only.
