WHO/Europe consultation on preparation of the European Action Plan for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights
14–15 December 2015, Copenhagen, Denmark
The aim of the consultation is to prepare an action plan that provides a framework for country-specific policy responses, action plans and programmes for improving sexual and reproductive health.
The consultation will bring together representatives from all Member States in the WHO European Region and experts in sexual and reproductive health and related areas, such as health systems, nutrition and physical activity, mental health, tobacco use, alcohol use and the life-course approach. The purpose is to:
- review the draft plan on sexual and reproductive health and rights,
- propose optimal monitoring of achievements and
- identify neglected areas to be included in the plan.
The plan will define concrete steps that are in line with Health 2020 and global and regional strategies and policy documents, including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the renewed United Nations Strategy on Women's, Children's and Adolescents' Health 2016–2030. The European action plan for sexual and reproductive health and rights will be in line with the draft European women's health strategy and will be presented during the 66th session of the Regional Committee for Europe in 2016.
