Meetings of the WHO European Regional Measles and Rubella Laboratory Network
27 June–1 July 2016, Budva, Montenegro
WHO/Europe coordinates a Measles and Rubella Laboratory Network (LabNet) comprising 72 WHO-accredited laboratories. Two back-to-back LabNet meetings (one for western and central European countries, Georgia and Turkey and another for the Russian Federation and newly independent states) will bring together representatives of WHO reference laboratories, the Ministry of Health of Montenegro and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
The aim of the meetings is to share recent information, achievements and challenges, particularly focusing on laboratory aspects of measles and rubella surveillance, in order to sustain high-quality laboratory monitoring and optimize laboratory contributions to the verification process for measles and rubella elimination.
