Tobacco cessation workshop
17–21 October 2016, Moscow, Russian Federation
The purpose of the tobacco cessation workshop is to improve policy-makers’ knowledge, skills and experiences in strengthening national tobacco cessation and treatment systems in accordance with the guidelines for implementation of Article 14 of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC). The workshop will be a combination of theory and good practices from the Russian Federation, the WHO European Region and globally.
The workshop is organized by the WHO Regional Office for Europe in the context of the project on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases, and financed through a voluntary contribution of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The meeting will be co-organized by the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.
The target audience of this workshop is health policy-makers and experts in tobacco cessation in 12 newly independent state countries including representatives of health ministries and technical experts on tobacco cessation in the country.
