Training of trainers in laboratory quality management system and WHO LQSI tool
A series of 5-day training courses for senior laboratory managers, quality officers and members of national laboratory working groups is being organized as follows by the WHO Country Offices in collaboration with WHO/Europe’s “Better Labs for Better Health” initiative:
- 25–29 September 2017, Tashkent, Uzbekistan;
- 2–6 October 2017, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan;
- 9–13 October, Dushanbe, Tajikistan;
- 16–20 October, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova; and
- 30 October–3 November, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The purpose of these courses is to train professionals in the latest developments in the field of laboratory quality management, which will enable them to become and to remain national leaders in this field. The course includes an introduction to the laboratory quality management system (LQMS) and the Laboratory Quality Stepwise Implementation (LQSI) tool. In addition, to increase the impact and dissemination of knowledge from this course, a training of trainers component is included, covering the theory and practice of modern adult learning principles and techniques. This will enable participants to hold the LQMS introduction training course and the course on the LQSI tool themselves.
The course aims to provide participants with the theoretical background and practical expertise to implement a quality management system that complies with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 15189 standard for medical laboratories.
