Biosafety Course for National Influenza Centres

A four-day training course will be organized by the WHO Regional Office for Europe in collaboration with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in partnership with the Association of Public Health Laboratories and the Richard Lugar Centre for Public Health Research of the National Centre for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia.
The course will present best practices to assist in the development of biosafety programmes within influenza laboratories. Participants will include 20 laboratory managers and biosafety officers from 17 national influenza centres; they will review and discuss laboratory biosafety and biosecurity practices through didactic lectures, hands-on exercises and practical demonstrations.
