Better Labs for Better Health 3rd Partners’ Meeting

9–10 October 2018, Almaty, Kazakhstan

Better Labs for Better Health was conceived in 2012 as an intersectoral approach to support Member States in eastern Europe and central Asia in strengthening their laboratory services in order to meet their commitments under the International Health Regulations (2005) to respond to health emergencies.

The 3rd Partners’ Meeting will review progress since the 2nd Partners’ Meeting in December 2016. It will be conducted jointly with WHO/Europe’s antimicrobial resistance team and will cover and allow for discussions on topics such as laboratory system reforms, mentoring laboratories for quality management system implementation, laboratory capacity building, and the use of mobile laboratories and external quality assessments.

The meeting will also be a platform for sharing information between countries and partners on laboratory strengthening initiatives, in order to support continued coordination and collaboration with international partners and projects.
