HEN technical member since 2005

Aqumed (Aerztliches Zentrum für Qualität in der Medizin – Aezq) is a non-profit-making organization established by the German Medical Association (BAEK) and the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV). Aqumed activities focus on appraising and producing guidelines, quality indicators and patient information; disseminating and implementing evidence-based guidelines; coordinating error prevention and patient safety measures; developing methodologies for guidelines and evidence-based health care; and identifying and appraising quality innovations.

Aqumed-consult is the international branch of the Agency with expertise in producing and incorporating evidence and quality into health care practice.

Information available

The web site contains the Agency’s publications, information about its programmes and projects, and links to other similar national and international organizations.
