On 20 February 2012, WHO/Europe agreed key research areas for the next two years with the Netherlands Institute for Health Services Research (NIVEL), a WHO collaborating centre for primary care.
New publication on blood safety from the South-eastern Europe Health Network

WHO/Europe has recently published a new document entitled, "Current status and future strategies in safe blood and blood components transnational availability for medical emergencies and special circumstances in South-eastern Europe".
Tajikistan hosts blood donation event

The Ministry of Health of Tajikistan and the Republican Blood Centre, technically supported by WHO/Europe and other internaional partners, hosted an event to highlight the importance of voluntary blood donation. It was held on 12 January 2011 in Dushanbe.
