Republic of Moldova hosts launch of global initiative to improve participatory dialogue on health reforms

A global WHO/European Union (EU) initiative to support “policy dialogue on national health policies, strategies and plans” was launched on 24 April 2012 on the premises of the Ministry of Health. The partnership aims to improve participatory dialogue on developing, negotiating, implementing and evaluating comprehensive health policies with a view to promoting universal coverage, people-centred primary care, and health in all policies. It aims to strengthen country processes and where appropriate also aid effectiveness.
Strengthening governance mechanisms for public hospitals in the Republic of Moldova

A roundtable on hospital governance was held in the Republic of Moldova on 18 April 2012. The event was organized by the Ministry of Health with the support of the WHO Country Office and was part of a WHO mission on hospital governance visiting the country on 17−20 April with the aim of analysing the situation and providing recommendations in this specific area.

Health System Performance Assessments for Azerbaijan and Estonia to be released shortly

Following the recent releases of Health System Performance Assessments (HSPA) for Armenia, Georgia and Portugal, the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the respective Ministries of Health have collaborated on the development and implementation of HSPAs for Azerbaijan and Estonia. These are expected to be released later this year.
