Child and adolescent health

Facts and figures

Robust data on child and adolescent health status are scarce. WHO/Europe’s 2008 follow-up survey found that only about half the countries in the WHO European Region had a national database of relevant health information. Some databases on child and adolescent health are integrated in other registers or databases. Most countries collect morbidity and mortality data, but collecting disaggregated data is demanding and time consuming. When this work is done, however, policies can be built on good intelligence.
