Climate change

WHO/Europe’s activities on climate change and health are framed by global and regional mandates.

In 2008, the World Health Assembly passed a resolution on climate change and health. The WHO workplan on climate change and health for 2008–2013 frames WHO’s action for the coming years.

At the regional level, the European Regional Framework for Action was welcomed in the 2010 Parma Declaration on Environment and Health.

WHO also collaborates with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, providing advice on health aspects of the Convention.
