WHO summarizes data and recommendations for policy-makers so that they can make informed decisions on tackling air pollution. The WHO guidelines address both indoor and outdoor air quality, identifying threshold limits for exposure that are based on the latest scientific evidence.
Within this Convention, an important mechanism aiming to improve air quality and reduce the health burden of air pollution in most of the WHO European Region, WHO coordinates the Task Force on health aspects. The Task Force provides information on health effects and promotes their addressing by the Convention’s instruments.
