At the 2010 Parma Conference, governments decided about the future of the European environment and health process (EEHP). This will be revitalized through new arrangements and steered directly by ministers through regular ministerial conferences, to ensure the highest political profile.
An institutional framework ensures appropriate coordination between national implementation and international policies, the proper level of monitoring and implementation, and the political drive.
Previously, the EEHC - a committee bringing together representatives from health ministries, environment ministries, intergovernmental and civil-society organizations - monitored and reported on countries' work to implement their commitments. Its second key role was promotion and advocacy, by sharing experience and best practice and building partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
