The Conference took place on 23–25 June with the theme “The future for our children” within the broader context of sustainable development. The ministers committed themselves to implementing the Children’s Environment and Health Action Plan for Europe (CEHAPE) in their countries and adopted the Conference Declaration, which included a renewed mandate for the EEHC of a further five years. Ministers also agreed that a high-level intergovernmental meeting should be held in 2007 to review progress made in implementing the Declaration and CEHAPE.
