'WHO Family' meeting in Poland

Celebration of World Health Day 2012 in Poland

With the slogan “Good health adds life to years”, World Health Day 2012 focused on issues related to ageing and health. Activities to mark World Health Day in Poland included two press conferences organized by the Ministry of Health and the Voivodship Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Warsaw in collaboration with the WHO Country Office.
Symposium highlights challenges and achievements in combating tuberculosis in Poland

In celebration of World TB Day, a two-day symposium was held in Warsaw on 23 and 24 March 2012. In line with this year’s theme, “Stop TB in my lifetime”, the symposium focused on the need to eradicate tuberculosis (TB) in Poland and throughout the world. Special attention was paid to prisoners and foreigners, two of the most high-risk groups in the country.

2012 UEFA European Football Championship: health advice

UEFA’s decision to ban tobacco from the world’s third largest sporting event sends a strong message to football fans everywhere, reaffirming the link between football and good health.
