New HiT on Portugal

The new HiT on Portugal has just been published to coincide with the completion and the beginning of the two phases of the National Health Plan (2004–2010; 2011–2016). It provides information on key points such as the National Health Service, co-payments, health insurance coverage, health care delivery by public and private providers, and ongoing reforms. The Portuguese population enjoys good health, but there is an overall awareness and concern about the rise in health care expenditure. Challenges remain and the effects of the reforms are still to be seen.
