Minister of Health of Romania visits WHO/Europe

Dr Ritli Ladislau, Minister of Health of Romania, met with Ms Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe, and divisional directors on an official visit to the WHO Regional Office on 6 December. Ms Jakab briefed him on WHO/Europe’s work, the commitments made by Member States and possible areas for further collaboration.
The main topic of discussions between Dr Ladislau and the divisional directors was the health reform under way in Romania. The technical programmes of WHO/Europe gave their feedback and comments on a document received earlier reflecting the main elements of Romania’s health reform process.
The divisional directors and programme managers also presented the range of WHO/Europe’s work and discussed with the Minister the best ways of collaborating.
In the afternoon, Dr Ladislau and Ms Jakab signed the Biennial Collaborative Agreement between the Ministry of Health and the WHO Regional Office for 2012–2013.
