• Minister of Health of Ukraine signs agreement with WHO/Europe

  On 21 May 2012, Raisa Bogatyryova, Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Health of Ukraine, and Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe, signed a biennial collaborative agreement for 2012–2013.
• WHO/Europe hosts visit from Bosnia and Herzegovina delegation

  On 14 May 2012, Mr Sredoje Novic, Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Dr Ranko Skrbic, Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republika Srpska, met Ms Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe, and other WHO/Europe senior-management staff.
• Italian Minister of Health visits WHO/Europe

  Professor Renato Balduzzi visited WHO/Europe on 7 May 2012 to discuss future collaboration on migration and health, the social determinants of health and other issues.
• Regional Director visits Albania

  Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe, met with Sali Berisha, Prime Minister of Albania, and Petrit Vasili, Minister of Health, during an official visit to the country on 10–11 May 2012.
• Health minister of Turkmenistan visits WHO/Europe

  On 1 May, Dr Gurbanmammet Elyasov, Minister of Health and Medical Industry, met with Ms Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe, and other senior staff at WHO/Europe.
• WHO/Europe and EuroPharm Forum to develop joint initiatives

  Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe, and Dick Tromp, President of the EuroPharm Forum, signed a memorandum of understanding on 8 March 2012 establishing closer working relations.
• Czech Republic’s Minister of Health signs agreement with WHO

  Dr Leos Heger, Minister of Health of the Czech Republic, visited Denmark on 1 March 2012. He both visited the WHO Collaborating Centre for Evidence-based Health Promotion in Hospitals and Health Services, at Bispebjerg University Hospital in Copenhagen, and signed a biennial collaborative agreement for 2012–2013 with WHO/Europe.
• WHO/Europe and the European Forum of Medical Associations (EFMA) prepare for next meeting

  WHO/Europe hosted EFMA’s Liaison Committee on 10 February 2012, and discussed preparations for EFMA’s next meeting and its partnership with WHO. 
• World Health Summit and WHO/Europe forge closer links

  Professor Detlev Ganten, President of the World Health Summit, and Dr Mazda Adli, its Executive Director, met Ms Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe, on 6 February 2012 to strengthen the partnership between the Summit and WHO.
• Estonia’s Minister of Social Affairs visits WHO/Europe

  On 27 January 2012, Hanno Pevkur, the new Minister, visited WHO/Europe, to learn about its work and sign the biennial collaborative agreement on areas of joint work for 2012–2013.
• Minister of Health of Latvia signs agreement with WHO/Europe

  On 25 January 2012, Dr Ingrida Circene, Minister of Health, Latvia met with Zsuzsanna Jakab, WHO Regional Director for Europe and signed the Biennial Collaborative Agreement setting out areas of joint work between the Ministry and WHO/Europe for 2012–2013.
