The health systems financing programme supports Member States in designing and assessing their health financing systems and reforms. Guided by the goals of health systems (health gain, equity in health, financial protection, equity in financial contribution, responsiveness to citizens’ expectations and overall system efficiency), this support is provided through:
The programme seeks to promote better performing health systems by applying a comprehensive, functionally coherent and results-oriented approach. The aim is to translate WHO’s core values into practical tools for the diagnosis and development of health financing policies.
