Страновой офис в Туркменистане был основан в ноябре 1995 г. в г. Ашхабаде для предоставления помощи правительству в разработке политики в области здравоохранения, развитии системы здравоохранения и программ по охране общественного здоровья, направленных на удовлетворение потребностей страны в вопросах охраны здоровья посредством реализации стратегии ВОЗ «Адаптация служб Бюро с целью удовлетворения новых потребностей».
